Sincerely Stefan

by Stefan Chapman, advice columnist

Dear Sincerely Stefan,

I’m a senior and I have been leaving campus every day at lunch, but I can’t seem to get back in time. My teachers are getting upset. What can I do to get my food and still get back to class without being late?

– Betty White

Dear Betty,

Going out every day is not only a waste of money, but a waste of gas. If you really want to save time, buy in bulk. When you do go out to lunch, triple your order instead of getting the usual amount.

Another problem I see is that your teachers are upset. Try buying them something over the weekend. When you’re late to class and they angrily ask why you are late, you can say, “Sorry I’m late. I was busy buying you this basket of fruit.”

You’re also probably not driving fast enough. Try doing fun things like racing other students back from Chipotle. That way you can have fun and make it to class.

Lastly, you should try ordering very complex things on the menu, so while everyone else has ordered something simple, the people working at the restaurant will have to go out of their way to make your order first so they can get it out of the way.

If none of these tips seem to help you, then eating in your car is always a good way to get off campus and have a nice lunch too.

Dear Sincerely Stefan,

I dislike doing schoolwork very much. I actually have trouble doing anything in my classes. What can I do to motivate myself more?

– Sierra Rainbolt

Dear Sierra,

Making short term goals is the best way to motivate yourself. Say to yourself, “Hey, if I don’t finish this assignment tonight, I won’t let myself eat tomorrow.” Challenge your friends to do their homework. Then challenge them again to do your homework.

Maybe you feel you can’t motivate yourself to study for tests. I have your solution.

Whenever you’re doing anything, have your book open to the pages you need to study. You don’t have to read any of the pages, but you will feel confident knowing you were always very close to studying.

Everybody knows that test taking isn’t about what you know, but how confident you feel going in to take that test.

Seriously though, you should try in school. Your life depends on it.
