Brian Barr, Adviser
Brian Barr is the adviser for The Californian student newspaper and has been during his entire 21-year tenure at Cal High. He also teaches English 9 and mock trial/introduction to law, and coaches the girls golf team at Cal and the boys golf team at San Ramon Valley High in Danville. Before becoming a teacher, Barr worked as a reporter for seven years at several East Bay and Central Valley newspapers, including what is now called the East Bay Times. He is a 1992 graduate of UC San Diego, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science with a double English minor. He really likes golf and pineapple.
