Cal wins moot court
For the fourth straight year, Cal High won the Bay Area Moot Court championship on Oct. 22.
Senior Gunjan Baid and sophomore Ashton DeLano beat junior Karishma Pareek and senior Tiffany Ko in an all-Cal High finals to win the title. Sophomore Marnie Lowe and freshman Pacific Austin reached the semifinals and placed third.
Eleven members from Cal’s mock trial team participated in the day-long competition, including senior Tony Huang, juniors Nick Fajardo and Kara Avancena, and sophomores Ravid Reif and Richa Goyal.
Wind ensemble earns top honors
Cal High’s wind ensemble won for the first time in history at the Foothill Band Review, one of the largest competitions in the state. The school’s symphonic band also had a good showing, placing third in the same division.
Grad Night fundraiser on tap Dec. 6
To support the Class of 2012, the Grad Night Committee is hosting a holiday fundraiser on Dec. 6 from 5-9 p.m.
