Sophomore Rafa Bawono is in his first year in The Californian as a staff writer. He spent most of his life in Jakarta, Indonesia but was born in Pennsylvania. He looks forward to improving his writing skills and hopes to expand his vocabulary. Rafa joined newspaper because he did not have the chance to join the elective at his previous school. Rafa is also a swimmer but loves to sleep in and eat instant noodles. His favorite instant noodles are Indomie, Shin Ramyeon and Buldak. Additionally, his favorite genre of movies are comedy, his most favorite being White Chicks and Mean Girls. Rafa misses Indonesia and looks forward to making new friends here in Cal High.
