“Red Hot” Come Back

By Cliff Carenello
Staff Writer
The new Red Hot Chili Peppers album, “I’m With You,” made its big debut on Aug. 29, It has been six years since the bands last album “Stadium Arcadium,” which came out in 2006.
This new album differs from previous albums because it posses a somewhat heavier sound due to the raunchiness and distortion of the guitars. But it also contains some songs that have the original funky Chili Pepper sound from previous hits such as “Californcation” and “Under The Bridge.” The new song “I’m With You” is their hit single that gave fans a taste of what to expect from their new album.
The band is still led by bassist Flea and frontman Anthony Keidis, whose vocals are still as great if not better then back when they first started in 1983 with the self-titled debut alubm. “I’m With You” also features new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who replaced John Frusciante.

Klinghoffer, the band’s fifth guitarist, previously played with the bands Gnarls Barkley, Beck and the Butthole Surfers. He also played the Chili Peppers on their last tour alongside Frusciante, who has been the band off and on since 1988.

This band is looking for a comeback and so far critics say they have achieved it. After nearly 30 years, the Chili Peppers still know how to rock the house, and bring in the funk.
