Student Safety Statement from Principal Mark Corti

Dear Cal High Families,

We would like to make you aware of an incident that was reported to us late this morning. At approximately 11:10 AM, a female student who was walking her bike on San Ramon Valley Blvd. between Montevideo and Bollinger Canyon Road, reported being approached by a man who was also walking on the sidewalk. According to the student, the man asked her for her phone number and attempted to engage her in a conversation. She walked away and the man followed her and appeared to be taking photographs of the student. She then jumped on her bike and rode to school, where she alerted the administration office.

We immediately contacted the San Ramon Police Department. Officers came to the school, took a report and searched the area but did not find the person. The man is described as approximately 5’10”, 250 lbs, 30 – 40 years old wearing pink dress shirt, black pants, black shoes.

As a reminder, please ask students to always be aware of their surroundings and always report (to the school or police) any suspicious activity in or around our schools.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Mark Corti
Principal
