With this year coming to an end, now is a great time to get yourself in on 2017’s holiday makeup scene, and by the looks of it, the new trends and releases are most certainly going to make this year end with a blast.

In September, the holiday makeup season started with the extremely hyped release of Rihanna’s all inclusive makeup line, “Fenty Beauty.”

Upon release, “Fenty Beauty” became an instant success, with multiple products selling out within days of the line dropping and receiving shining reviews from critics and users across the board.

From the lip gloss that is able to give anyone a subtle pop of color to the 40 shades of foundation available, Fenty Beauty delivered for high quality makeup that has prided itself on being a versatile makeup line: having something for everyone.

Not only has the makeup line used social media to hype its release, but the excellent marketing campaign that prefaced the line’s inclusive nature made the collection appeal to a wider audience.

The success of the line has shown that there is not only success, but a need and demand for makeup that can be used by people with darker skin tones, as many of the darker foundations specifically were the products to sell out shortly after the release.

As for trends, we can all sigh in relief knowing that “squiggly eyebrows” died quicker than my ambitions.

Soft smoky eyes are here, and they are going to give you, your dog, and Grandpa a subtle hazy gaze that perfectly encapsulates the wonderful crispness of winter.

But if you want to go for a more bold look with your eyes, go for the classic smoky eye with a touch of bright red on the top lids, as featured by Alberta Ferretti for their holiday runway show.

For the rest of the face, peach is here, and it’s going on your cheeks and lips, according to Rocky Star. If peach isn’t your thing, go big, go gold, and get your sparkles on with the bold look of golden glitter lips, featured by Ashley Isham.

This year has arguably been a dumpster fire, but if you think you look like a dumpster fire, know that you don’t. You’re beautiful. But to enhance your beauty, no matter what you look like, it’s easier than ever with the products available to everyone, so let’s end this year looking fabulous.
